Rising stars within Manchester’s ever-evolving RnB scene, Lovescene join the Band on the Wall family and make their label debut with this joyous two-track release. Led by Manchester-based soul vocalist and songwriter Pops Roberts, the outfit showcase their outstanding capability to join the dots between soul, RnB, and dancefloor sounds. Those with their ear to the ground may have heard Afrodeutsche spin the exclusive world premiere on BBC Radio 6 Music, Fri 3rd Sep 2021.



Lovescene’s love for cinema has been instrumental in their creative output. Their early compositions began as samples cut from scores, and when Pops realised most of the scores where love themes, the band’s name was a no brainer. “Good song writing should affect the viewer/listener in the same way a classic scene in a film should - the details in tone, wording and the emotion of the performance are everything. We’ll always strive to capture that in our music.”



Suits You sets the scene of an irresistible lover who doesn't see you the way you see them. “It's a soulful lament but focussed more on the more seductive side of that frustration. A lot of us have been there or given advice to a friend in this situation (which likely wasn't listened to!) so it's definitely one for the frustrated lovers.”



Overnight (Dancefloor Mix) is a groover. Born through jamming with the Overnight (Lovescene, Aug 2020) stems and handing over to Dub Phizix for mix engineering duties. “The hook worked so well with the beat and breathed a different life into the track – I played it at a few parties and the response was so good it just made sense to give it over to the dancefloors! We were even more pleased that Dub Phizix was up for mix engineering it - he's the king of beats and we respect his exceptional ears and advice. It’s always so inspiring to see him in his studio and to watch some mastery.”



Suits You / Overnight (Dancefloor Mix) is the third 7” release from Band on the Wall’s The Singles Club. Special thanks to Lovescene for the music, Mike & Sian for the art and to all at Band on the Wall for their ongoing support.
